I got Zoe Strauss's book, America, for Christmas. From reading it I got a
very nice feeling about her - not just about her photos but of her as a
person. Then today I came across this rather moving story about one of
the pictures in it.

'America in Pictures' a dynamic portrait of Life magazine, presented by the
fashion photographer Rankin. For more than 30 years Life magazine captured
all the big stories - but more importantly life in small town America, with
great photo stories. Don't miss it !!!

If anyones interested, this weeks 'Art of America' on BBC4, has a really great insight into the work of Edward Hopper and Charles Sheeler, the two artists I talked about in my presentation on my inspiration for my photography. There is also an interview with the photography Philip di Lorca Corcia, discussing Hopper in relation to his own work.
