This week saw my camera club's Monochrome Printer of the Year event, a competition that seeks to keep darkroom processes going. The format is that everyone taking part receives the same negative to interpret in any way under darkroom conditions. In addition to the wet print competition a new feature was announced - a second competition for digital workers, who received the a digital colour file, that had to be turned into a monochrome image and printed. Any form of manipulation was allowed.

I've attached the original digital file and my two attempts at manipulating it - if anyone wants to try their hand at the challenge, let me know and I'll email the file to you. We could then show our attempts at the next meeting.
