My first exhibition....
Dear all,It really looks like attending my first Ealing LIP meeting at the beginning of this month and having the pleasure and the honour to meet you all bought me really good luck as last weekend I knew that my photographic project "shine on Japan" was selected to participate to the group exhibition being held on the 1st of July in London for the Matchbox Media Collective Launch Party (www.matchboxmedia.org), a newly born London based creative multimedia network."shine on Japan" is a selection of photographs I have taken in Tokyo between 2008 and early 2011 belonging to various projects of mine. A humble attempt to try and protect the image of Japan that I have learnt to love and admire over the years and that has been so strained by the recent disaster. 10 photographs from the project will be on display (some are taken from the Tokyo Yamanote line prohect I showed at the LIP meeting). If you have time and wish to have more information about the project and the ideas behind it, please check: http://www.fabrizioq.com/shine_on_japan.html.The group exhibition is a one evening multimedia event (Friday the 1st of July, from 7pm till late). Four artists will be exhibiting. Besides myself, the talented photographer Mimi' Mollica with his "London I (Exposed)" work, painter Enrica Casentini (with "Open Doors") and graphic artist Dybbuk Luke Moss. There will be video installations, music and drinks as well. The exhibition will take place in Matchbox Media headquarters, a three storey house/gallery in Hackney (closest station: Dalston Junction overground). I am enclosing the flyer where you can find all the event details.Needless to say I'd be extremely happy if some of you could be able to come along - even for a short time. Looking forward to seeing some of you there. If you have questions about the place, etc, please let me know.CheersFabrizio
